2012 was a quiet year for 'Elizabeth Jane Studies' at least from my viewpoint, though I know that Serena Cant has been busy getting her forthcoming book England's Shipwreck Heritage: From logboats to U-boats to press. It will now be available from 31st July 2013.
February 2013
This week I received an email from Gerald Wollard whose wife is related to Sophia Rudd (nee Read) sister of William Read the last owner of the Elizabeth Jane. She married Samuel Rudd a carpenter and is mentioned in William Read's Will of 1869. Gerald has kindly offered his GedCom file containing his family tree through which Sophia connects with my chart of William Read's immediate family. I am sure Gerald would be keen to hear of more connections with his family. I would be keen to hear from anyone who has a connection with WilliamRead - though I believe he and his wife Mary had no children. Stephen Gavin
